We can currently register Proprietary (private) company limited by shares with one director and shareholder. This company can’t be a trustee of a superannuation fund.

A company is a separate legal entity that offers protection for personal assets and is taxed at the corporate rate. Operating as a company can minimise your liability as a business owner.

Anyone over the age of 18 in Australia. You also must have at least 1 director who resides in Australia (for tax purposes) and have a registered address located in Australia. At the moment we’re registering a company with single director and shareholder and accepting applications from Australian residents only.

Before you start the online application form, please make sure that you have the following information ready:

• A company name
• A registered office address – this must be a physical street address, not a PO BOX, to where ASIC will send specific notices and on some occasions deliver service documents in person. Plus ASIC auditors require access to a physical address. We’ll also submit the company’s registered office address as your principal place of business address. You may use your residential address as a registered office or principal place of business address.
• Director details – full name, residential address, date and place of birth. At the moment we’re registering a company with single director and shareholder. Therefore, a director must reside within Australia. From 1st November 2021 newly appointed directors will need to apply for a Director ID before applying for company registration. This process is very quick and takes only 5 minutes and is free to apply.

Business name registration allows you to legally operate under your chosen trading name, regardless of what your registered company name may be. If you want to trade under a different name to your company’s registered name, you’ll need to register it as a business name.

You are not required to register a business name if you are a registered company in Australia and you operate under your company’s name.

So if your company name is ‘Happy Shark PTY LTD’ and you are trading as ‘Happy Shark PTY LTD’, then you do not need to register a business name. However, if you’d like to trade as ‘Magic Shark’, then you will need to have this registered, as the business name is not the exact same as your first and last name.

Business name registration is something our team is working on at the moment. We’re planning to add this service soon. Therefore the company you register with us will be trading under the company’s registered name.

At the moment we’re registering a company with single director and shareholder. However, you can add more directors losing the necessary form directly with ASIC. The process to be followed will usually depend on your company's constitution (or the replaceable rules, if your company has not adopted a constitution). The process would likely involve a resolution of the company (or its members, or both), a consent from the incoming director and preparation and lodgement of the necessary ASIC form.

An ACN is a 9 digit number allocated by the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) when a body becomes registered as a company under the Corporations Act.
